For the seventh time in the last nine years, EA's Madden NFL video game has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner.

Last week, EA simulated the matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Jets using Madden NFL 12 to predict the winner of Super Bowl XLVI.  The game simulation predicted the Giants to win 27 to 24 thanks to a last second field goal.

The score wasn't exactly the same, but the result was. Even further, the game predicted Eli Manning to walk away as the game's MVP, which also proved correct. But just how accurate was the rest of the prediction?

EA has posted some stats that the game was pretty darn accurate with predicting.  Check them out below.

Pretty accurate predictions for a game many claim is "inaccurate" to real life.  Chalk one up to the Madden NFL 12 developers and player ratings teams.  Seven out of nine is not a fluke.  I think these guys may be on to something.
